The Saratoga Peace Pod was established during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Pod is a group of crafters who knit, crochet and quilt, creating warm, useful items for families in crisis.

Initiated by Rachel R. Baum, and established in 2022 by a Saratoga Springs, NY City Council, the Poet Laureate is an ambassador for poetry,  promote citizens' awareness of poetry, forges a meaningful connection between poetry and the community, making poetry more available and more accessible to people in their everyday lives.

Kids on Beekman

Kids on Beekman! will take place on consecutive weekends during National Poetry Month in April 2025. Parents and children are invited for a free half hour lesson in creating miniature origami poetry chapbooks. Saratoga Arts made this program possible throught the Community Arts Regrant Program, funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

The Saratoga Senior Center Poetry Open Mic is held on the 2nd Friday each month at 1:00pm at the Saratoga Senior Center, 290 West Avenue, Saratoga Springs, New York. All are welcome!

Capital Region Poems on Wheels

The brainchild of poets Rhonda Rosenheck and Rachel R. Baum, the Capital Region Poems on Wheels project connects people to our shared humanity. Poem cards are delivered quarterly to 2000 homebound seniors in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady counties.
